Natural Disorder 2006by Mike Coker
Named in relation to climate change and treatment of the land. The top section is natural and uncontrolled, and the lower section being controlled by man and in some sort of disorder/disrepute. The rich layers of graphite sketched over top of blues and ochre create sparkle and a glint as the light changes or the position of the viewer moves. Created on watercolor paper. Mixed media.
Currently unframed, this work was in the CBD the day of the Feb 2011 quake and hung in the red zone for a year as part of a collection of works on display at the Hotel Off The Square.
